What is Atha Jiva’s Unique approach to Therapy?
I provide an organic, growth-oriented and integrative approach to therapy. This new approach incorporates movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to help you navigate life, achieve calm, and reach your potential

I specialize in integrating cognitive behavioural techniques with holistic body breath and mindfulness practices to support my clients.
What is Cognitive Behavior Therapy?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, practical, and action-oriented therapy. Through scientific research, CBT has been shown to be highly effective for the treatment of many mental health problems. These include :
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Anger management
- Interpersonal issues
- Couples conflicts
- Chronic pain
- Insomnia
- Low mood, energy and general unhappiness
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is the Gold Standard in therapy. It has been an effective intervention for decades; however, few Clinicians have discovered the powerful treatment results of combining CBT with Mindfulness.
I specialize in integrating cognitive behavioural techniques with holistic body breath and mindfulness practices to support my clients.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT stands for Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. It is a newer form of CBT with the same goal: to help clients take control of their thoughts , feelings and behaviours.
MBCT incorporates the principles and techniques of CBT with Holistic Practices, such as:
- Guided Meditation
- Breathing Practices
- Mindful Movement
- Body scan exercises
- Awareness of the Present Moment
Ultimately, MBCT helps clients develop the skills and tools they need to be with their thoughts and to breathe through stressful situations. These skills can be applied to everyday life situations and long after treatment has ended.
Yoga Therapy is an emerging field that combines traditional Yoga practices and Ayurveda with Western anatomy and research to create a practical new approach to wellness. It is increasingly recognised by medical researchers globally.
Typically offered in a one-on-one format, Yoga Therapy serves as a beneficial next step towards holistic wellness and complements Mental Health Therapy.
Unlike general yoga classes, which involve the same movements for all participants, Yoga Therapy is customised to address each individual's health concerns and personal goals, such as rehabilitation from physical conditions or health concerns, improving strength, reducing pain, or preparing for meditation.
As a Certified Yoga Therapist (c-IAYT), I adapt techniques to suit my client's specific needs, making this therapy valuable for those seeking relief from health issues as well as for individuals aiming to maintain good health and slow the ageing process.
I believe everyone should have a personalized practice as an empowered way to self-care
Customized Workshops and Retreats on Yoga and Wellness
At its core, Yoga is a means of connecting with your true, authentic self to achieve a state of freedom or liberation. It achieves this by using breathwork and the body as tools to slow down, focus the mind, and refine awareness.
At Atha Jiva, we emphasise Mindful Yoga Movement (MYM), which invites us to practice connecting and reconnecting our minds with our Body and Breath. Mindful Yoga Movement brings conscious awareness and non-judgmental acceptance to your yoga practice, enhancing your engagement with both your inner world and the outer environment.
The Benefits Of Yoga Supported By Science And Enhanced By Mindful Yoga Movement (MYM) Are:
- Increased muscle tone, flexibility, stamina, and strength
- Improved respiration, energy and vitality
- Balanced metabolism and improved weight management
- Elevates symptoms of migraines, menopause...
- Improves quality of life
- And so much more!
The healing and transformational power of yoga should not be limited to Yoga studios. When Yoga and Mindfulness practices are integrated into our everyday environments, the true transformational potential of yoga can emerge. Practising yoga at home or in the workplace allows its calming and rejuvenating energy to thrive where it is needed most—there's no need to "escape" from the real world.
I am available for speaking engagements at conferences, corporate events, and retreats, where I create customised workshops and practices focused on Mental Health, Mindful Yoga, and Holistic Wellness.
By booking me as your speaker for Wellness Initiatives, Corporate Events, Wellness Retreats, or Employee Engagement sessions, you will promote a culture of well-being, stress management, and holistic health.
Through Mindful Movement, breathing exercises, and guided meditation, my expertise will inspire your organisation or event to embrace wellness as a lifelong habit.
